Electrical Waste

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 aim to reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and encourage treatment, reuse, recovery, recycling and sound environmental disposal. Thus reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill.

The Regulations apply to a huge spectrum of EEE products and have placed responsibilities for disposal on the users, producers and distributors. It is important to note that it is your responsibility to dispose of any equipment on your premises that was manufactured before July 2007 and any costs must be met by your business.

It is your responsibility to appoint a WEEE disposal agent such as Chemwaste Limited to ensure you comply with all WEEE regulations.
